For medical questions, Siri often requires you to say, “Search Wolfram Alpha for…” to get the information you need. Simply saying “amyloidosis” to Siri won’t work, and she’ll respond that she has no information and ask if you’d like to search the web. In a way, this makes sense, because Wolfram Alpha’s answer might not be the one you want — perhaps you’d prefer a Google search. But it might be better to provide two options, then, rather than defaulting to searching the web. So if you say “amyloidosis” Siri might instead respond, “Would you like me to search the web or Wolfram Alpha?”

The integration with Wolfram Alpha isn’t perfect yet, either. Asking, “What is the incidence of amyloidosis?” should ideally bring up the above information from Wolfram Alpha, but instead Siri says “I don’t know that. Would you like to search the web for it?” (Addenum: “How many patients have amyloidosis?” works.) On the other hand, asking “How much potassium is in a mango?” brings up the correct answer from Wolfram Alpha instantly.
